Drafted into U.S. Army 1966  Basic Training  Fort Jackson S.C.   Artillery Training   Fort Sill Ok.  Shipped out to Vietnam by troop carrier ship-28 days aboard. Only thing sicker than me was Mule mascot. It died and we deep sixed it in Pacific Ocean. Assigned to searchlight crew and attached to USMC on hill 65 outside Danang.  Transferred to Duster (twin 40 mm track vehicle) halfway through tour. Helped get first USMC convoy to Hue during Tet offensive. Came home- Married my lovely wife June. Joined VVA #451 and years later charter member of VVA Ocean City Chapter 1091. Welcome Home to my fellow Veterans.

Bill Served in the Airforce from 1962 to 1969 (got a 3 month early out). He served in SAC and was a Bomb/Nav System tech on the B-52 Bomber and was in the first SAC contingent into Utapao Airbase where he worked on the B-52's. Utapao was in direct support of the Vietnam War. When he was discharged he went to work for AT&T (or MA Bell as she was called then), after the split he transferred over to Bell Atlantic. Retired in 2000.

He is a VA Accrediated Service Officer and is eager to help Veterans who want to file with the Veterans Administration for Disability, Healthcare and other reasons.
